Throughout the Bible you will come across so many different names of Jesus. Although the name Jesus did not appear until the New Testament, Jesus was very present all throughout the Old Testament with different names. As I was researching the names of Jesus, I came across many names, but decided to compile a list of the 25 most powerful names of Jesus that have personally impacted me. 1. Jesus
Although this list contains 25 powerful names of Jesus, the very first to appear in the New Testament is the name Jesus. It’s not a coincidence that the name Jesus means savior. What a beautiful name with meaning and power.
Matthew 1:21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” (NKJV)
2. God
Regardless of the name you most know Jesus by, it’s important that you remember that above all Jesus is God. When you refer to Jesus, you refer to God himself.

3. Messiah
Messiah is the equivalent to the name Christ, the long-awaited Savior. This serves as a reminder that the promise of a savior in the Old Testament was fufilled.

One of my favorite names of Jesus is Immanuel because this name is a reminder that God is A God that is with his people, among his people, and for his people.
Matthew 1:23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” (NKJV)
5. Savior
Although God used many prophets, leaders, apostles, and people to deliver his people throughout history, Jesus Christ is the one and only savior.
Luke 2:11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. (NKJV)
6. Author of Salvation
The same way there is no book without an author, there would be no salvation without Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 5:9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him (NKJV)

The Word of God will always remain important, powerful, and relevant because Jesus Christ is the Word.

11. Light Of The World
Jesus reminds us that even in the midst of the darkness in the world, He is the light.

Simply put, Jesus is life.
