Have you ever wondered how you can tell apart a person who actually knows God from a person who doesn’t (even when they profess that they do)? Simply put, by their fruits. Anyone can claim to know and love God, but only his children will walk according to the Sprit and produce godly fruits. In this post I’m going to share some insight on the fruit of the spirit, the purpose of producing godly fruits, and supporting bible verses to enlighten, inspire, and help us produce the 9 fruits of the Spirit.

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT SCRIPTURE:
Galatians 5:22-25 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (NKJV)
WHAT IS THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT?
The same way trees produce different fruits (depending on the type of tree of course), The Holy Spirit produces godly fruits in our lives. Matthew 7:16 says, “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?”
Our fruits are what set us apart from the world and define us as children of God.
Think of it like this, what makes an apple tree different from a pear tree? It’s fruits! Apple trees will never produce pears and pear trees will never produce apples. You know you’re in front of an apple tree when you’re able to see apples on the tree.
You will be able to easily tell them apart by their fruits.
So, what fruits set us apart from the trees (people) that don’t know God?
