20 OF SATAN’S LIES TO REPLACE WITH GOD’S TRUTH
In this post you will find 20 of Satan’s lies to replace along with 2-4 bible verses that will help you defeat these lies with. Some of these lies may be familiar to you, while others may not. Regardless of what lies you’ve heard, believed, or accepted, below I’m sharing 20 of Satan’s lies to replace so that you can be prepared at all times.
1. “You are alone.”
Satan wants to make you believe that you’re alone when in reality YOU are surrounded, filled, and covered by God’s love. Satan uses this lie to discourage you, make you feel lonely, and distance you from God. However, God wants you to know that you are never really alone. God is with you 24/7, 365, through good and bad.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
God is with you.
Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ (NKJV)
God is with you wherever you go.
Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (NKJV)
God will be with you until the end.
Matthew 28:20 I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (NKJV)
2. “You are weak.”
How many times have you felt like you were too weak to handle God’s mission for your life? Too weak to fight sin? Or too weak to follow God? This is another common lie Satan tries to oppress Christians with. However, this lie is just another one of his lies. God has made you strong and capable of living out his purpose for you.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
You’re clothed with strength.
Proverbs 31:25 Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. (NKJV)
The joy of the Lord is your strength.
Nehemiah 8:10 Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. (NKJV)
Your strength comes from God.
Exodus 15:2 The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; my father’s God, and I will exalt Him. (NKJV)
God’s strength is perfected in weakness.
2 Corinthians 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (NKJV)
3. “You’re a failure.”
Perhaps Satan has been making you feel defeated, discouraged, and out of place with this lie? Well, it’s time to replace this huge lie with God’s truth. If you’re the child of an all-powerful almighty, and victorious God, then you’re already a winner.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
Your faith is your victory.
1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. (NKJV)
You’re victorious through Jesus.
1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (NKJV)
You’re more than a conqueror through Jesus.
Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (NKJV)
4. “You are not complete.”
Whenever the devil tries to make you feel like you’re not complete, turn off those darts of fire with God’s truth. In God, you’re complete because HE completes you. And God never leaves a job undone. Whatever God starts, HE finishes.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
You are complete in Christ.
Colossians 2:9-10 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. (NKJV)
Scripture makes you complete.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (NKJV)
You’re not lacking anything.
Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd;I shall not want. (NKJV)
5. “No one can help you.”
On top of making you feel alone, Satan tries to make you believe that no one can help you. Whether you’re going through adversity, pain, sorrow, or hardships, God wants you to know that HE is there to help you. And God is the ultimate helper you need.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
Your help comes from God.
Psalm 121:1-2 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. (NKJV)
God is a very present help in trouble.

God will always help you.
Isaiah 41:13 For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’(NKJV)
6. “Your sins are too big to forgive.”
One of the biggest tactics the devil uses to discourage believers is accusation and condemnation. He accuses you, shames you, and makes you believe that you can’t receive God’s forgiveness. But, scripture shows us that God sent His Son into the world to save us, forgive us, and redeem us from our sins. No matter how big your sin is, God is willing to forgive you if you choose to let go of your sin and hold on to him.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
God has forgiven you according to his grace.
Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. (NKJV)
God is always ready to forgive.
Psalm 86:5 For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. (NKJV)
God has removed your sins.
Psalm 103: 11-12 For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.(NKJV)
7. “Your past defines you.”
How many times have you felt defined, affected, and hurt by your past? Whether your past is filled with pleasant or heart-breaking memories, God wants you to let go of the past and live your present and future in Him. You are not defined by your past!
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
In Christ, you are a new creation.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV)
Forget about the past.
Isaiah 43:18-19 Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. (NKJV)
Live as God’s renewed creation.
Ephesians 4:22-24 That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. (NKJV)
8. “You are a slave to sin.”
Regardless of the amount of sins you have committed or the weight of your sins, there isn’t a sin that is more powerful than God. God has rescued you to live your life in his freedom, let go of your sinful nature, and be devoted to pleasing Him, not your flesh.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
You are a slave of God not of sin.
Romans 6:22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. (NKJV)
Jesus has set you free from the law of sin.

Sin has no dominion over you.
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. (NKJV)
9. “You have no purpose.”
God created you through Christ with a purpose and for a purpose. So, whenever Satan tries to make you feel like you have no purpose, fight off his darts with the following verses. There isn’t anything or anyone who can stop God’s purpose for your life.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
God created for good works.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (NKJV)
There is a time for every purpose under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. (NKJV)
God’s purpose for your life will stand.
Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. (ESV)

10. “You will never find peace.”
You may not find peace on earthly or material possessions, but you’ll always find peace in God. God has promised to guard our hearts and minds through Jesus. So, whenever doubts of anguish, fear, or anxiety cross your mind, cast them away by remaining firm in God’s peace and believing in His Word.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
The peace of God will guard your heart and mind.

God will keep you in perfect peace.
Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. (ESV)
11. “You will never be healed.”
Unless God has a purpose with the illness, pain, or suffering you are facing, He can easily restore your health, heal your wounds, and wipe away your tears. Pain on this earth is temporary, but happiness with God is eternal.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
God can take sickness away from you.
Exodus 23:25 So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. (NKJV)
God can restore your health and heal your wounds.

God will wipe away your tears and take away your pain.
Revelation 21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (NKJV)
12. “God will never listen to you.”
No prayer you lift up to God is in vain. Every single tear, petition, word, and song you sing to God is stored in God’s heart. So, don’t let this lie of Satan interfere in your life of prayer. In fact, pray more, believe more, and trust more. God is listening.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
God hears you.
1 John 5:14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. (NKJV)
God listens to you when you pray.

God not only listens, but also answers.

13. “You have nothing to contribute.”
While you’re on earth, you’ll always have something to contribute. God created you with the purpose of contributing what he has given you. So, while YOU may not have anything good to contribute, Christ has blessed you with special gifts .
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
You are a weapon in God’s hands.
Jeremiah 51:20 “You are My battle-ax and weapons of war: For with you I will break the nation in pieces; With you I will destroy kingdoms. (NKJV)

God has blessed you with gifts so that you can minister them wisely.
1 Peter 4:10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.(NKJV)
14. “You are not accepted.”
Ever feel like you don’t belong? Perhaps you always feel like an outcast everywhere you go. Since you’re not of this world, it’s impossible that you’ll be accepted by everyone all the time. Which is why, the only one you should care to be accepted or approved by is God. In Christ, you are not only loved but you are also accepted.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
Jesus accepts you.
Romans 15:7 Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.(NKJV)
Jesus will never cast you away.
John 6:37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.(NKJV)
15. “You’re ugly.”
The heading may sound a little comical, but this is one of the most popular lies Satan tries to spit out daily. The good news is that Jesus came into the world to destroy all of Satan’s works. So, the only words that are valid are the ones that come from God.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Psalm 139:14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. (NKJV)
You are beautiful – God doesn’t see a flaw in you.
Song of Solomon 4:7 You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you. (ESV)
Let your internal beauty outshine your external beauty.
1 Peter 3:3-4 Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. (NKJV)
16. “You’ll never be happy.”
While it’s inevitable to avoid sadness, there is no reason why you should live your entire life feeling sad. The same God that is capable of parting the Red Sea in two is capable of turning your sadness into everlasting joy.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
You can rejoice and be glad in God’s mercy.
Psalm 31:7 I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, for You have considered my trouble; you have known my soul in adversities. (NKJV)

Hold on to hope because God is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (NKJV)
18. “No one cares about you.”
Imagine listening to Satan’s lies and feeling as if no one cared for you when you have a God who deeply cares about you? God did not send his only Son to die in the cross just because. He did this as an act of love, grace, and mercy. No matter how loved you are, there is no one on this planet who cares about you the way God does.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
God cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. (NKJV)
God is mindful of you.

God can never forget you.
Isaiah 49: 15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. (NKJV)
19. “”Your life has no value.”
Often times Satan tries to steal our happiness, peace, and light away by making us feel as if our life had no value. But, just like always, he is wrong. Our life is so valuable that Jesus died at the cross so that we can live through Him.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
You are precious in God’s sight.
Isaiah 43:4 Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honored, and I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, and people for your life. (NKJV)

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. (NKJV)
Your life belongs to God, so it’s valuable.
Isaiah 43:1 But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. (NKJV)
20. “You are unloved.”
While I can’t speak on the behalf of those around you, I can definitely assure you that you are LOVED by God. The love God has for you can’t be measured, limited, or defined. It simply surpasses all understanding and is enough to fill every void in your heart. Don’t ever let the enemy make you feel unloved when you are so very loved.
REPLACE THIS LIE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
God loved you before you loved him.
1 John 4:19 We love Him because He first loved us. (NKJV)
God has loved you with an everlasting love.
