How God Sees You – Discover Your True Identity

If I were to ask you “How do you see yourself?” What would you say? Would you talk about your virtues or would you only talk about your flaws? Maybe up until this point you’ve only focused on your flaws. Or maybe the darts the enemy has sent to your head and the harsh comments you’ve heard from others have made you see FLAWS and flaws and more flaws. Regardless of the way you see yourself, you need to know that God sees you differently than the way you see yourself. He sees you behind HIS eyes, love, and celestial vision. DOES GOD CARE TO SEE YOU?

The answer couldn’t be anything other than YES.

When Hagar fled to the desert, with a broken heart and a afflicted spirit, she discovered something so powerful and life-changing. In the midst of doubts, questions, suffering, and confusion she felt while walking in the desert all alone, Hagar finally felt SEEN. Maybe nobody ever cared to really see her – look beyond what she shows. But for the first time ever, she felt seen. The Egyptian slave was seen by God.

Hagar recognized that God is a God who really sees. God looks past what you show and he looks past the way you see yourself. And if Hagar, who was an Egyptian slave fleeing from home was seen in her condition, what makes you think that God doesn’t see you? He sees you. And he sees you with everlasting love.

Genesis 16:13 Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees; for she said, “Have I also here seen Him who sees me?” (NKJV)

HOW GOD SEES YOU

1. A new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV)

2. A child of God.

John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. (NKJV)

3. A vessel of light.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (NKJV)

4. God’s own work.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (NKJV)

5. God’s flock.

Ezekiel 34:31 “You are My flock, the flock of My pasture; you are men, and I am your God,” says the Lord God. (NKJV)

6. An heir of God.

Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. (NKJV)

7. The temple of God.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. (NKJV)

8. An ambassador for Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. (NKJV)

9. The salt of the earth.

Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. (NKJV)

10. God’s clay pot.

Jeremiah 18: 6 “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel! (NKJV)

11. More than a conqueror.

Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (NKJV)

12. Completely accepted.

Ephesians 1:6 O the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He ^[a]made us accepted in the Beloved. (NKJV)

13. Whole and sufficient.

2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God. (NKJV)

14. Chosen and special.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. (NKJV)

15. Alive and forgiven.

Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses. (NKJV)
