What Does The Bible Say About Pride?
Pride does not proceed from God.
1. 1 John 2:16
For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. (NKJV)
2. Luke 4:11
For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” (NKJV)
3. Isaiah 2:11
The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. (NKJV)
Pride is a sin.
4. Proverbs 21:4
A haughty look, a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked are sin. (NKJV)
Pride is deceiving.
5. Galatians 6:3
For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. (NKJV)
6. Obadiah 3:1

13. Daniel 5:20

How should we fight pride?
20. Romans 12:3
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. (NKJV)
21. Proverbs 27:2
Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; A stranger, and not your own lips. (NKJV)
22. Ecclesiastes 7:8
The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. (NKJV)
23. 1 Corinthians 10:31
Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (NKJV)
What should we glory about?
24. Jeremiah 9:23-24
“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.
