Have you been experiencing disappointment after disappointment? Perhaps things are not going the way they should be. Or maybe life lately has felt so stagnant. When life seems to be spiraling out of control, there is no better place to turn to than to God. The stagnant, painful, and confusing seasons of life seem unnecessary. But, Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Somehow every season in life serves a purpose and is beautiful while it lasts. But, understanding and accepting that truth can be hard. That’s why I’ve compiled 10 bible verses to read when you feel stuck in life. Read these verses during the stagnant seasons of life and use these bible verses to help you remain hopeful and strong during these seasons.

Feeling Stuck In Life
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Every-time I write a blog post on this website, I make sure to write from my heart and what I am currently going through. Of course there are certain posts I create where I learn as I am researching and writing. But the majority are inspired by what I am currently experiencing, feeling, and living in life.
So, if I’m writing this post about feeling stuck in life, I need you to know that I am writing this post because I have felt this way and can understand how you feel.
This post is scheduled to be published three weeks from the day I am writing this post, so I don’t know how I will be feeling then or where I will be in life. But, right now I am going through a season in life where I feel stuck, drained, and somewhat lost.
There are good things happening in my life right now because God’s blessings never abandon us. But, I feel like I am ready to embrace a new season in my life.
The season I am currently in was very good initially, but it has started to feel stagnant, draining, and overwhelming. That’s why my prayer to God as of late has been:
Something new and something better.
10 Bible Verses To Read When You Feel Stuck In Life
As a way to help me patiently wait on God and survive this season of my life, I have turned to scripture to find direction, consolation, and hope. Below I am sharing 10 scriptures that will help you fix your eyes on Christ when you feel stuck in life.
1. Isaiah 43:18-19
“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. (NKJV)
Takeaways:
- God doesn’t keep you in the past.
- You are meant to go through different seasons of your life, so never cling on to one.
- God is able to make new things in your life.
- God makes a way where there seems to be no way.
2. 2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV)
Takeaways:
- If God doesn’t remain in the past, neither should you.
- All things become new in God.
- Past seasons are meant to stay in the past so that you can embrace new seasons in your life.
3. Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (NKJV)
Takeways:
- When we carry heavy weight on us, the race becomes harder to endure.
- The same way Jesus endured the cross by clinging on to his purpose and hope in God, we have to endure the hard seasons by clinging on to our purpose in Him.
- The only way to survive the hard seasons of life is by fixing our eyes on Christ.
- In order to enter the better seasons of life, we must endure the hard ones first.
4. John 13:7
Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.” (NKJV)
Takeways:
- Even though we may not always understand the purpose behind certain seasons of life, God eventually reveals it to us later if we wait on Him.
- We don’t need to understand God in order to trust Him with our life. We just have to believe that He knows what He is doing.
5. Luke 18:27
But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” (NKJV)
Takeaways:
- If you feel like it’s impossible to survive this season of your life, remember that with God all things are possible.
- God can transform, make new things, and make the impossible POSSIBLE.
6. 2 Corinthians 4:18
While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (NKJV)
Takeaways:
- The hardships you are experiencing in this season of your life are temporary.
- Living by faith means letting go of what we see and believing in what we don’t see yet.
7. Ecclesiastes 3:1
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven (NKJV)
Takeways:
- Every season in life has a purpose.
- There are hard seasons, like growing seasons, and happy seasons. Regardless of the season, each season is part of your purpose in God.
8. Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (NKJV)
Takeways:
- The hard seasons in life are not meant to destroy us.
- God has good thoughts for us in every season of our lives.
9. Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (NKJV)
Takeways:
- Don’t conform yourself to what the world tells you to accept.
- Regardless of how good a season may be, always allow God to renew your mind and continue transforming you.
10. Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. (NKJV)
Takeways:
- If you wait on God, He will renew your strength.
- God will give you the strength to survive this season and embrace the next.
